A Day in the Life of the Construction Estimator:

Responsible for leading preconstruction and estimating efforts. Estimates include small to large scale commercial and multi-family projects. Directly involved in developing new client relationships, maintaining existing subcontractor relationships, client engagement and presentations. This position may require travel from time to time.

  • Projects and controls construction costs by collecting and studying information; controlling construction costs.
  • Develop estimates, budgets, quantity surveys and proposals accurately and competitively.
  • Work with the Project Manager to select the best subcontractor considering both price and quality.

Job Requirements

Skills and Experience to be successful:

  • Bachelors' degree in construction or related industry and 5 years of estimating experience
  • Proficient with Timberline estimating software.
  • Conceptual estimating experience with a General Contractor.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite products and scheduling software.
  • Familiar with LEED requirements
  • Willing to travel for site visits and bid deliveries.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation is commensurate with experience and ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually plus bonus.
  • Excellent benefits are available including 80% of health insurance, 401K, vacation and holiday pay.
